Great product and the only ceramic, ionic blow dryer with a retractable cord
This is the only ceramic, ionic blow dryer with a retractable cord that I could find on the market and I am very pleased with it. My fiance loves it because the cord doesn't get tangled or clutter up the bathroom counter. I love it because it's a great size and performs well-- drying hair very quickly. The only reason I hesitated from giving it 5 stars is that it is a bit heavy (because of the ceramic core, I suppose). Lastly I think the product could be improved with a more ergonomic handle.

Great deal for the money
I think this dryer is a great deal for the money, especially with the added features of the retractable cord, folding handle and multiple speed settings. This was my first ionic/ceramic hair dryer and I was not disappointed. There is a real difference from the old style dryers - namely the air coming out is not as hot yet it dries in about the same amount of time or less. While I haven't tried it yet during the humid summer months when my hair frizzes out, right now my hair is unbelievably smooth after drying. I like to use this dryer with my Solia straightener which is also takes away every ounce of frizz. Where were these amazing hair products when I was a teenager??

Andis Nano-Diamond Flat Iron-- A Worthy Purchase
I bought this flat iron on eBay, not knowing what to expect. But since it was an andis product, and they generally make salon-quality equipment, I hoped for the best.
What you get with this straightener is super smooth ceramic plates. It also uses infrared heating for less damage to the hair. The plates don't tug on the hair at all, but I prefer the highest heat setting even for my thin blond hair. It doesn't dry out your hair when used with a light heat protectant like Chi Silk Infusion.
Compared to my last flat iron, a Conair Power of Pink ceramic iron, this is a much better quality product. It glides through my hair and straightens it in minutes. The high heat is really nice for straightening but it doesn't dry out your hair of fry it like my old Conair.
This is a good product for the price.

Terrific design!
This flat iron is awesome! The fact that it's handle is like a curling iron's instead of a V-design makes the handling of the item so much easier. Less burning of the ears and neck!!! The product is perfect

While the charge for shipping was excessive product arrived in perfect condition and works very well, I have achieved very good results with its use

Decent starter
I bought this product a year from now discounted, which was less than $35. I think it's pretty basic for my needs. I have dry straight hair. I usually only use the lowest setting, which is still pretty hot. I haven't tried the highest settings as my hair is pretty easy to straighten.

Seems a little slow to heat up, 2-3 minutes or so. But, heats up pretty well. I've used it maybe once a week with no problems. One thing I would advise is to follow the instructions. Like, this is not a wet to dry straightener.

Also, it's no Sedu or CHI. But, I straighten my hair once in awhile, so no big deal. If you want to lengthen the life of your hair while straightening, be sure to use some thermal protection!

As Good As Professional Irons
I recently purchased this after my Hot Tools straigthening iron stopped performing as well as it used to. I had owned that one for nearly ten years, though, so it served me well. I was ready to invest in an expensive straightening iron similar to what stylists use at salons, but after comparing prices and reading reviews for numerous products, I opted for the more affordable Andis.

I have thick, wavy hair and was unsure if a less expensive iron like this one would do a good job of taming my waves. All my doubts were put to rest after using the iron. I originally set it at a medium heat setting, which straightened my hair perfectly. But ever since, I've been using a low setting which surprisingly still works on my unruly hair.

Pros:
* Heats quickly
* Various heat settings to suit many types of hair
* Power switch is strategically placed to avoid accidental turn-off
* Has locking mechanism so you can secure the plates for travel

Cons:
* The silver finish looks kind of cheap

Overall, a fine product at an affordable price that does what it's supposed to do. As another reviewer noted, the product doesn't have the appearance of being made well (which is solely why I give it four stars instead of five). But with proper maintenance, I don't see why this flat iron shouldn't last a long time.

Works great, not sure how long it will last
This flat iron leaves my hair smooth & nice very comparably so to the very expensive iron it is replacing. It performs wayyyyyy better than the cheap irons I have had in the past not even in the same league. My only concern is that it doesn't seem to be built in a way that will last for a long time...but, my expensive one burnt out in under a year so, considering that it is well worth the money. You can have a couple on hand & still spend less if they last a year or longer. I say give it a try.

Nice Iron
I bought this for my 17yo daughter and she is very pleased. She has used it every morning for the past two weeks and has not had one complaint about it.
It tends to get a little hotter than her old iron, but that is a bonus in her mind ;) She seems to think that the straightening process goes faster with this one that her old iron.

The plates are nicely coated, very smooth on the hair and seem like they will last a long time.
I was prepared to spend well over the cost of this iron, but we thought we could give this one a try before we made another huge investment in a different brand.
We both think this iron is an excellent value. In fact, this was such a great deal that I went ahead and bought her the one inch version of this same iron just for her bangs.

:: UPDATE :: 11/08 -- My daughter is still using this iron every day as well as the one inch version of the same iron. She has not experienced any peeling or any problems. I would buy this iron again. It has been a great value for us.

YOU CAN'T GET A BETTER VALUE THAN THIS!
I recently received this flat iron in the mail and I must say that I was extremely impressed. I left it to heat up and literally blinked once and it was ready to go! I have very fine, wavy hair that frizzes at the mention of moisture. This product instantly smoothed and straightened my hair without the need to go over the hair more than once. To top it all off, this 23 dollar flat iron comes with a 5 YEAR WARRENTY! I had to do a double take when I read this in the package. My sister had also just purchased a $[...] Chi iron from the mall and I had to rub this great value in her face (I did tell her to wait and I could get her a much better price on the same if not similar product) I am extremely happy with the performance and overall design of this product.

it did a great job
i have to say that the iron did a great job in straightening my hair! i'm african american and my hair stayed straight in the rain and in humidity! but it didn't burn my hair like other irons i used and didn't have that burning hair smell. for that i would give it 4 stars. but like another user, my iron started to chip also! i just purchased it last week and used it once on relaxed hair that was blown straight first. so i would give it 2 stars for that. also the iron started to chip in on the top plate in one area, making me think that the iron gets too hot in that once spot.

I Love it
This is one of the best flat iron's I've purchased. I love how it can curl or flip my hair and takes a quarter of the time a curling iron would. The only negative is if you don't use smooth actions it makes indents in your hair.

Works great
I was considering buying the expensive InfraShine flat iron, but then I read the reviews for this one, and I'm glad! I saved about $80 and this flat iron is really great. My hair stays straight (with some gel pre-straightening)and has a nice shine. I have no trouble using this flat iron and it takes only a few minutes to style my hair. I highly recommend it.

Makes awesome curls!
This flat iron also makes great curls! I have long fine hair...and a ton of it. I always run into trouble with regular curling irons...it curls great, then falls within a few hours, even with a lot of product in my hair. I saw flat iron curls a few weeks ago and decided to try it myself. The Andis flat iron was the mid-priced one at a local store. My first attempt at making curls with this flat iron was a great success! It is so simple, and the curls are so full and bouncy...and they are staying in my hair...without product!! I have very fine, medium-thick hair that's wavy and all my life I have been struggling to get it to stay straight without frizzies. My hair is straight after blow drying and using a curling iron to smooth it out, but 20 minutes later my hair doesn't look as smooth anymore. I'd never tried a flat iron before but thought that since I was essentially using a large curling iron to smooth it down in the same manner, maybe a flat iron would be the way to go. Since I'd never had one before I came here and did some extensive research into what type to get. I knew that they could be very expensive and was willing to pay if it was worth it, but luckily came across this item. It was so cheap that I figured if it didn't work well, so be it, I wouldn't be broke because of it and I'd just go buy another. Well, there was no need to worry because this thing works great. My hair has never looked this good in my life. The first time I used it I went out and everyone was asking me, what did you do to your hair, it looks great. Even on a day when it's raining my hair stays straight. It used to be that even a hint of rain or humidity and my hair would start to fuzz up, but no more. And I'm finally getting used to it, where it was taking me what seemed forever to straighten all my hair I now have down to a science and it takes just minutes to do. If you're new to flat irons and thinking of getting one of those ultra expensive models, do yourself a favor and try this one first, you won't be sorry and you'll have saved yourself a ton of money. Oh, and my stylist says that Andis is a very good brand, they have been making professional dog and people grooming tools for a long, long time.

Smooth and soft hair!
This is the best straightener I've ever used--and you can't beat the price either! I have coarse hair that is part wavy, part curly and part straight and is also fairly frizzy. This works like a dream. My hair is so soft, smooth and shiny after I use it (no more waves or frizz). I started using it two weeks ago and every day someone new tells me how good my hair looks. Andis makes a much better straighener than Conair (my Conair was a piece of junk that didn't do anything for my hair). It's easy to use and the different heat settings are great.

Leaves hair looking like you got it done at a salon
I love this straightner it makes my hair feel silky soft & smooth. Its great cause it removes the need for a blow dry. I love the way my hair looks everytime I use it!

Curly hair friendly
I have really curly thick hair (we're talking coffee stirrer sized coils) and this iron worked great. It's better than my Chi (and a fraction of the price). My hair feels great and, unlike when I use my CHI, it's straight from root to tip.

Good but not great
My friend has an Andis flat iron (black and gold one) and it worked GREAT!! I loved it, I thought I would try this one for wet and dry hair, it works but not as good as the other Andis flat irons. It takes a couple of passes to get your hair flat and straight. If you have curly hair forget this one. Straight hair that you want flat it will work.
